My personal experience as a volunteer at JOURNEY

Sibylle, our French volunteer, is leaving RIDE to start a trip in Kernataka and Kerala. You will find bellow the woman feedback about her encounter at JOURNEY.

” I stayed two weeks as a volunteer at RIDE workplace. During that moment, I had the chance to understand RIDE’s priorities and key actions and see how my competencies could match with their requirements. I recognized I could make them through as well as communication abilities.

Doing work for RIDE is being flexible about the schedule as we face in India several electricity cuts every single day (which is surprising at the beginning! ). Between work office periods, Jeyaraj took me everywhere: Inde i visited several schools and villages and had the chance to talk with kids, instructors and key project coordinators. It was very interesting to observe how Jey works with local NGO’s and exactly how he manages a wide variety of tasks (children labor, women’s legal rights, self help organizations, microcredit tasks.. etc)

As being a volunteer at JOURNEY is also a wonderful chance to understand and see the Indian tradition from a daily life perspective. As I stayed at kunne Jeyaraj and Britto’s house, I really felt like a new member of the family. They go out of their way to feel in your own home, safe and throughly looked after.

I cannot thank them sufficient for their kindness. I had an excellent time! ”
